FLOOD DAMAGED HOMES CONDEMNED

by Shannon Longneck October, 2015 brought rain to South Carolina, leaving the state overwhelmed by flooding, the likes of which had not been seen in over a thousand years.  New Grace was hit hard and many areas throughout the county remain devastated. At a meeting of Mayors and county representatives an announcement was made that three New Grace neighborhoods have officially been condemned. The damaged and vacant homes have been a haven for thieves who have taken the opportunity to remove plumbing fixtures from the structures and anything else that appears of value and survived the onslaught of water....

CHRISTMAS LIGHT PRANKSTER IN COURT

The twenty-two count indictment, which included three charges of abduction and assault, reflected the bizarre crimes that took place across New Grace County on December 10th  which left the victims tied naked with Christmas lights to a sleigh in a homeowner’s Christmas  display. Brother and sister Silver and Raymond Gold were arrested on December 12, 2015 for the abduction of Andrew Palmer from his car dealership in Beaudeclaire after forensic evidence linked to Ms. Silver. CHRISTMAS LIGHT PRANKSTERS GO VIRAL

After two days without a single lead, New Grace Sheriff Ozell “Ozzie” Keith received a call from, of all people, his thirteen- year-old daughter who provided him with a link to a video she had seen in school.   The video, a combination of different scenes strung together and accompanied by Christmas music, showed the abductions of Andrew Palmer, Belinda Prescott and Duncan Cobair along with his dogs Lacy and Thor.  Since each abduction took place at 10pm, give or take...

OKTOBERFEST VENUE CHANGE

by B J Beckman –  Monday morning Mayor Billy Clanton of Beaudeclaire announced that the annual Oktoberfest scheduled for October 23rd -25th in Desiree Park had been cancelled due to the rain which devastated most of the area.  The Historic District was hit hard and many of the shops will not reopen before the end of the year, if at all. The economic ramification of these closures cannot be calculated at this time.  The revenue from the Oktoberfest is desperately needed, but there is no choice but to cancel.
