FUNDRAISERS SCHEDULED FOR LINDLEY LIBRARY

County officials announced yesterday that the Lindley Branch of the New Grace Public Library which was destroyed by fire on September 14, 2015 will find a new home.
After the court ruled on June 5, 2016 that the land which the Lindley Branch sat on will revert back to the estate of Homer Hampton, the county started a search for a new location. Three pieces of land are being considered.
Even though the county has insurance, creating a new library for Lindley was not planned into the budget. The county is hoping to raise he money for the unexpected costs. Several fundraisers have been planned.

THEATER IN THE PARK, ST. GEORGINA
Grammy Award winning hometown band The Copperheads will perfume at the Theater in the Park on July 16 at 7:30 pm. Tickets will go on sale on Monday – amphitheater seating will cost $300.00. lawn seating is $100.00. All proceeds will go to the Book Purchase Fund.
MAIN BRANCH, NEW GRACE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
Fifteen classic novels, first edition and autographed by the authors, have been donated for a silent auction. The books are on display at the main branch in New Grace. The auction will close at 8pm on July 31st.
If you would like to organize a fund raiser please contact Councilwoman Delores Shipley. “There are so many ways people can help,” said the councilwoman. “The local girl scout troops are planning something that will be a lot of fun. I’d tell you what it is, but I have been sworn to secrecy.”
